Liquid AI Launches LFM3 Family, 1.7B Model Outperforms Predecessor
Liquid AI has released the LFM3 model family based on a new tri-mixed layer architecture, featuring text, vision, audio, and omni-decision variants. The flagship LFM-1.7B outperforms the previous 2.6B model with 35% fewer parameters while supporting a 256K context window, marking a significant leap in small-model efficiency and capability.

IT Home reported on October 28 that AI lab Liquid AI released the LFM3 model family on October 27 (local time). Built on a novel tri-mixed layer architecture and pre-trained on 22T tokens, the models deliver superior performance while maintaining high efficiency.

The first batch of LFM3 products includes LFM-1.7B (text), LFM3-VL-2B (vision), d1-2B (decision-making), LFM3-Audio (audio), LFM3-Omni-2B (omni-modal), and d1-Omni-2B (omni-modal decision-making). All these models are built upon the LFM3-1.7B-Base foundation.
According to Liquid AI, LFM-1.7B features a 256K context window and outperforms its predecessor, LFM2.5-2.6B, while using 35% fewer parameters.
